3 hours · 16:00See the city change its mood: monumental architecture, the harbour promenade and the old palace quarter, with time for dinner.
The route moves from contemporary Oman’s grand landmarks to the harbour and the old city. Interior visits depend on each venue’s opening schedule.
Light, marble and extraordinary craftsmanship. Step into the prayer hall during morning visitor hours and notice how ornament, scale and stillness shape the experience. Modest dress is required.
A different expression of Omani elegance: finely worked interiors and the auditorium where music takes centre stage. The interior tour is subject to opening hours and rehearsals; admission is extra.
A pause by the Gulf of Oman, where the capital opens out towards the sea. The waterfront offers a change of scale after the city’s monumental architecture.
The harbour puts Muscat’s trading identity in view. Follow the curve of the corniche and visit the fish market, where the rhythm depends on the day’s catch and activity.
Meet a sweet tradition of Omani hospitality, then wander into lanes filled with frankincense, silverware and souvenirs. This is a place to look closely, browse and choose something with a story.
Blue and gold mark the Sultan’s ceremonial palace. Enjoy the exterior views, then photograph Al Mirani and Al Jalali, the forts that frame old Muscat. Palace and fort interiors are not part of the visit.
The full-day tour follows the same city route, adding the National Museum and a lunch stop at a national restaurant. Museum tickets and lunch are paid separately.
Explore Oman’s maritime connections, daily life and cultural heritage through the National Museum’s collections.
